Highlights of the Inca Trail 3 Day Trek & Sacred Valley Tour.

  • The Sacred Valley of the Incas is located 35 kilometers from Cusco, and about 600 meters below the level of Cusco. It covers the part of the basin of the Vilcanota river between the towns of Pisac and Ollantaytambo.
  • Appreciate and buy handicrafts at the famous handicraft fairs of Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero.
  • Visit Moray, impressive agricultural laboratory of the Inca
  • All roads lead to Machu Picchu but none is as beautiful, spectacular and mystical as the Inca Trail. A route that runs between jungles, misty cliffs and spectacular green mountains in the heart of Peru's most legendary.
  • The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, has been divided into several routes and several sections, most of them depart from: Km 82, and Km 104 of the Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu Pueblo railroad route.
  • Machu Picchu is at an average altitude of 2400 meters above sea level and has a total area of 325.92 kilometers.
  • Machu Picchu is a Quechua word that means "Old Mountain". Its imposing architecture comprises around 140 structures that make up the entire citadel.
  • The Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu mountains are part of a great orographic formation known as Batolito of Vilcabamba, in the Range Mountain of Peruvian Andes.
  • Machu Picchu is one of the new seven wonders of the world, along with imposing architectures such as The Great Wall of China or the Taj Mahal. It is presumed that it was built by the Inca Pachacútec approximately the year 1460. It was forgotten until the American Hiram Binghan arrived in an expedition and spread its existence worldwide in 1911. However, other Peruvians already knew of its existence.
  • The archaeological zone of Machu Picchu is only accessible by the Inca roads that reach it (the well-known Inca Trail), or by using the Hiram Bingham road (which ascends the slope of the Machu Picchu hill from the train station in the town of Aguas Calientes).
