Peru is a country of vast diversity in climate, landscapes and cultures. From the high glaciar areas and the Andean mountains, lush valleys, beautiful coastal regions, amazing desert landscapes and of course the vast Amazon Jungle.

There are an almost limitless variety of activites to do in Peru. Trekking in some of the best places in the world. for example The Classic Inca Trail, Salkantay Trek or Lares Trek. Rafting down tributaries of the Amazon River, kakaying Lake Titicaca, the highest navigatable lake in the world. Bungy jumping off mountain cliffs, zip lining from mountain to mountain in the jungle, surfing, kite surfing, sand buggying, sand boarding, canopy walk, diving and snokelling, biking, camping in real wilderness, boating in power boats down jungle rivers or across Lake Titicaca, to mention afew.

 

Lima

In Peru’s cultural and political center, experience some of the most excellent cuisines in the Americas, colorful nightlife, and ace museumsand churches. See the Cathedral and the catacombs at the Iglesia de San Francisco, and take a ramble about Miraflores for shopping and eats.

 

The Southern Coast

Go south for wines and piscos around Ica, dune -boarding in Huacachina, the baffling Nazca Lines, the marine life of Paracas National Preserve, and quiet fishing villages at Pucusana and Cerro Azul. The inland region specifically Pisco, was demolished by an earthquake in 2007, but is being restored.

 

The Southern Andes and Lake Titicaca

Colca and Cotahuasi canyons are the world’s two deepest canyons. Arequipa, the `White City´overlooked by frosttopped volcanoes, is Peru’s most beautiful, and a brief look into Spanish influence on native culture. Lake Titicaca


Cusco and the Sacred Valley

Cusco(11,500 feet above sea level)is an essential stop on your adventure to Machu Picchu. The previous Inca capital is beautiful, and full of excellent restaurants, hotels churches, and museums. See the Inca ruins closeby in Sacsayhuaman, do a day trip to the Pisac market and Ollantaytambo, or spend a night in the Sacred Valley.

 

Machu Picchu and Inca Trail

The celebrated Machu Picchu, filmy skies or sunny skies, never ceases to captivate, and the Inca Trail remains an important trekking pilgrimage.

 

Amazon Basin

Peru’s very large area of the Amazon may contain the world’s most considerable biodiversity. Fly into Iquitos or Puerto Maldonado for thewildlife preserves, jungle lodges, rain-forest treks, and boat excursions.

 

The Central Highlands

Festivals and market towns prevail in Huancayo and the Mantaro Valley, while the excited Semana Santa festivities are the craze in Ayacucho. From Lima to Huancayo, the world’s highest railroad tops out at 15,685 feet.

 

The North Coast and the Northern Highlands

Go up the coast for some of South America’s most excellent beach life and inland to the Cordillera Blanca for some of the world’s highest mountains. Many of Peru’s most important archaeological discoverieswere made in the north.
